On International Women’s Day (March 8), the Chinese American Association of Lexington (CAAL) announced a partnership with Lex See Her to help expand inclusive educational programming related to the monument.

Melanie Lin, Co-President of CAAL, noted that “Asian women have made significant contributions in modern U.S. history. In this moment of surging anti-Asian hate that especially targets Asian women, what can we and should we do? We look forward to seeing this exciting monument in town, as teaching history is the best way to build better future.”

Thanks Lex See Her for organizing a wonderful forum to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th. Lexington women shared diverse stories about celebrating women and breaking the bias.

CAAL Co-President Melanie Lin shared her perspective on “Opportunities and Challenges Facing Asian Women in Modern Day US”.

CAAL is announcing a partnership with LexSeeHer to help improve future educational programming.

Join LexSeeHer on March 8th at 8:00 pm for an hour Zoom to celebrate International Women’s Day and explore this year’s theme #BreakTheBias.

The evening will start with State Representative Michelle Ciccolo. We will hear from a variety of Lexington women who have diverse stories to share about bias, including CAAL member Melanie Lin. Lexington Historical Society Executive Director Carol Ward will provide an historical perspective on bias;

What a beautiful day for the parade!

CAAL is joining NECAA, UCAMA and other organizations in the greater Boston area for the 2nd Lunar New Year rolling parade. The 30+ car parade will start at the Chinatown and travel through 11 towns and cities.

The CAAL float has a sign of the Tiger in front and a leaping dragon on the float. Our parade messages are: Celebrating Lunar New Year; Stop Asian Hate, Peace No War!
