“CAAL Lunar New Year celebration was a total blast! Congratulations CAAL team on organizing such a hugely success event! Starting with the exciting dragon dance, followed by traditional performances – smooth, fluid dances, melodious music and martial arts had me captivated throughout! Loved that the program included an Indian dance and a performance by the Lexington Symphony. Very cool! The energy in the hallway was also through the roof with some amazing displays and friends catching up in the backdrop of the year of the snake! Happy year of the snake, everyone!! May the year bring wisdom, renewal and good fortune to us all!” -Vineeta Kumar

Join us for the Lunar New Year Food of Love Festival 2025!

Time: 4-7:30 pm on Jan 29

At Lexington High School

For the first time in Lexington’s proud and celebrated history, Lunar New Year is officially recognized as a school holiday! To celebrate this momentous occasion, we bring to you the Lunar New Year Food Festival. You will have the opportunity to embark on a culinary journey through East Asia and savor the rich delicacies prepared by vendors around Massachusetts.

Held on January 29th from 4:00 to 7:30pm and led by the Chinese American Association of Lexington’s Youth Leadership Council in collaboration with the LHS Asian Student Union (ASU), LHS Chinese Culture Club (CCC), Youth Reporters, LexiBright, and iSteam Academy, this event will truly be one to remember for all Lexington residents.

In addition to the classic dumplings, spring rolls, and scallion pancakes, you will also taste a series of dishes from different regions of China – experience the fiery Sichuan cuisine, the refreshing Hangzhou savories, the deliciously authentic Cantonese dishes, and the delicate selections of sushi. To finish off the experience, treat yourself to the fluffy and delectably juicy buns from a renowned lobster house in Boston.

After feasting, check out the various cultural booths and games: traditional paper cutting, Chinese painting, mahjong, face painting, handmade lanterns, the twelve zodiac signs, brush calligraphy, tea art, diabolo, shuttlecock kicking, photo booths, interactive games, and small cultural performances! Join CAAL at the 2025 Lunar New Year Celebration Gala

Join us at the 2025 Lunar New Year Celebration Galain Lexington on Jan 18. The event is hosted by Chinese American Association of Lexington (CAAL) in partnership with Lexington Symphony, Lex250 and LPS Performing Art Department. We have prepared an unforgettable evening of music, dances, and other cultural performances. After more than four decades establishing the Gala as a town-wide tradition, this year marks the first time the Gala’s theme is dedicated to bridging the East and West—embracing a shared hope for a bright and prosperous future.

Looking forward to 2025, this year brings with it the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington, the first battle of the Revolutionary War. In celebrating this milestone, Lexington will not only honor its past legacy but also celebrate the continuing revolutionary ideals of unity and inclusivity. In a nation built by immigrants, these ideals remain essential as we work toward a more perfect union.

As we are preparing to ring in the Year of the Snake, we invite you to join us for this spectacular event. Whether you are a long-time resident of Lexington or a visitor from afar, the gala promises to be a night of wonder and inspiration.

The event is in part supported by Community Endowment of Lexington, the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Dana Hone Foundation.
