[LexMedia] On Jan 21, Chinese American Association of Lexington – CAAL hosted a wonderful Lunar New Year ceremony at LHS featuring fabulous performances to bring in the year of the dragon.
2024 is the Year of the Dragon, and Lexington rang in the new year with a vibrant and festive gala at Lexington High School on Sunday, complete with colorful dragons, glimmering lights, traditional music and graceful dancers twirling umbrellas. The Lunar New Year is approaching, and 2024 is the Year of the Dragon! The dragon is an emblem of strength, vitality, and wealth in Asian culture. Come celebrate at the Lunar New Year Festival hosted by CAAL (the Chinese American Association of Lexington), an annual event that has become a part of Lexington’s rich cultural heritage.
This year’s festival features dozens of performance groups from Lexington and the greater Boston area. The festival will also feature a lively cultural fair, offering an array of food and drinks, interactive activities for all ages, and some surprises. Please bring cash for food and drinks.

Dragon, an emblem of strength, vitality, wealth, and auspiciousness in Chinese culture, symbolizes the start of a vibrant and prosperous 2024, the Year of the Dragon! The Lunar New Year Spring Festival, joyously celebrated by Chinese, Korean among other Asian communities worldwide, has become a part of Lexington’s rich cultural heritage.
This year’s festival has already attracted nearly 40 performance groups from Lexington and the greater Boston area, eager to participate in the gala. Selecting among a range of original and high-quality performances, the Spring Festival Gala Event Committee put together a program guaranteed to delight the audience. The Gala will also feature a lively culture fair, offering an array of food and drinks, interactive activities for all ages, and some delightful surprises.
Our partners for this year’s Gala include the Lexington Economic Development Office, Town of Lexington, Cary Library, Cary Library Foundation, Lexington Historical Society, Korean-American Organization of Lexington (KOLex) and Lexington Chamber of Commerce.
