Chinese American community in Boston area gathered in Concord on Saturday, Aug 27 to honor United States Senator George Frisbie Hoar, and celebrate the 196th Anniversary of his birth.
Senator Hoar was the only member of the US Congress to vote against the Chinese Exclusion Law of 1882 and all future extensions. He described it as “nothing less than the legalization of racial discrimination”.
