How did this individual make a contribution to their field or to society/culture at large?	Kai-Fu Lee has made a major impact in computer science he was one of the pioneers of Artificial intelligence. He led AI projects in speech and natural language.
Why did you choose this person? What about their story speaks to you?	What stood out to me about Kai-Fu Lee’s story was how he turned a terrible situation, lymphoma (a type of cancer) into a lesson for himself which is money can buy back his health nor the love of his family. I think that’s a lesson we all should take away from his story.
How does this person inspire you?	I aspire to have the attitude of Kai-Fu Lee, being able to find the good in a terrible situation is an important skill in life. And I’m impressed by all of his achievements.
What surprised you as you were learning about this person?	I was surprised how much of an impact he has made for the field of AI, He’s the founder of google China and Microsoft Research Asia. I was also surprised about how his view of cancer was, when he beat cancer he didn’t think about it as a demon of destruction in his life but instead took it as a learning opportunity.
