How did this individual make a contribution to their field or to society/culture at large? | Jennifer Yee is a pastry chef who has contributed by creating her own cooking show and she has had her talents featured in the international Art Culinaire, Food Arts, Food & Wine, and Saveur Magazine to name a few. |
Why did you choose this person? What about their story speaks to you? | Jennifer Yee is special to me because even I love making pastries, and I also hope to become a pastry chef too. If you don’t know what a pastry chef is, a pastry chef prepares baked goods such as cake, cookies, and also pairs beverages with foods. Now you might think that a pastry chef is like a baker, but the difference is little yet it makes a big impact: a pastry chef works with more complex presentations and deals with more sweet baked goods, while a baker simply bakes things such as cakes, bread, and cookies but presents them in more simple ways. |
How does this person inspire you? | Jennifer Yee inspires me because she shows me how she became such a successful pastry chef and how she has won so many awards and done so many more things that made her even better. |
What surprised you as you were learning about this person? | I found it very interesting how she was able to meet such high-level chefs like Gordon Ramsay and Angela Hartnett when she was progressing to become an amazing pastry chef. I was also surprised by how she had won so many culinary awards. |
