Our Mission
This program was established 12yr ago (2011). The Senior English Academy Program aims to give local seniors an adequate understanding of the English language through weekly in-person lessons. A basic proficiency in the language allows the elderly to feel more connected to and comfortable with the society around them. We cover content needed for everyday conversations, including greetings, directions, interactions at a grocery store, and being able to ask for help. However, the curriculum changes depending on the needs of the seniors. We teach through conversation activities, writing activities, short readings, games, watching American TV shows, and more.
