Our Mission
We are the Never-Fading Poppy Project, a non-profit, student-run organization that aims to connect generations through art. We specifically focus on sending handmade cards made by children/teens to local veterans in our community. We want to show our appreciation towards veterans and spread happiness and gratitude throughout the region. Card-Making Events: During four major holiday events (MLK Day, Patriot’s Day, July 4th, and Veterans Day), participants can create cards containing personalized messages and drawings specific to each holiday. Participants are also welcome to create general thank you cards throughout the year for veterans that are given periodically. In-Person Events: On Memorial Day, 2023, NFPP held workshops to create a poppy memorial at the center of downtown Lexington. The memorial contained over 2,000 handmade paper poppies. NFPP participants also partake in numerous parades throughout the year including the annual Lexington Veterans Day Parade. (EST 2020)
