During the coronavirus pandemic, masks have become a necessity of our daily life and are being used to protect ourselves and the ones we love. State policies also mandated public or community use of face masks. However, there are people and organizations (e.g., homeless shelters, senior homes…) that don’t have enough masks as needed. Sadly, these communities happen to be the group of individuals who are the most vulnerable to the disease and need more protection against the transmission of the virus. This proposed program will help to alleviate the mask shortage situation for them and also offer young people who are willing to have an opportunity to serve the community. Homemade masks have many benefits, being eco-friendly, washable, reusable and at relatively low cost.
