THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS LEXINGTON FIRST FRIDAY FORUM PRESENTS A 2020 VOTING UPDATE ON OCTOBER  2, 2020 AT 9:30 AM VIA ZOOM

As we all know, 2020 is an important election year.  Across the country people will vote for the United States President/Vice President, all of the House of Representatives, one-third of the United States Senate, and many local offices. In any other election year voting would be straightforward, but the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in new voting regulations across the country. Here in Massachusetts in July, the Governor signed into law reforms passed by the state legislature to facilitate safe voting. These were first widely tested in the State Primary on September 1, 2020.

On Friday, October 02, 2020, the LWV Lexington presents a Voting 2020 Update. Our speaker will be Lexington Town Clerk Nathalie Rice who will provide up- to- date information about voting in Lexington including (1) voting by mail (2) early voting, which will be October 17-30 (3) in- person voting. The program will include a special emphasis on what was learned from the September 1, 2020, primary voting experience.

This program is the first in the 2020-2021 First Friday Forum series hosted by the League of Women Voters to promote awareness and understanding of public policy issues. There will be a Q&A after the program.
